e temple where prayers for healing eye diseases are answered. It is said that Kobo Daishi founded this temple in 807. At the beginning of the Heian period, after Kukai learned esoteric Buddhism over in the Tang Dynasty of China, his ship was caught in a storm on the way back to Japan. He threw the Tocco into the sky from the top of the ship. The Tocco disappeared into the sky with a trail of smoke. After returning home, Kobo asked Kasuga Shrine’s God, “Where is my Tocco?” The God told him that the Tocco was on the north peak of the Uchimura Shoyama of Tamba Province Saeki, resting on the branch of a pine tree. Kukai was entrusted by the God and was guided there by a white deer.
Since then the place has been referred to as “Rokuya” in honor of this white deer. The mountain is called Tokonagesan and the shrine is named Senjuji because of the 1000 armed Kannon (Senjukannon) that is housed here.

According to the 丹波国風土記（Tambakoku-fudoki）, at the beginning of Nara, the Emperor of the Genmei were transferred to one of the Okuninushi’s pillars in Izumo, Shimane. In other words, this land has been described as the original place called Izumo.
This temple blesses longevity, marriage and fortune of divine favour.

The shrine was founded in the year 709 and is dedicated to the god of harvest. It is famous because it is one of the few shrines dedicated to the treatment of cancer. It is said that the precincts stroked the oak tree to ask for divine favour.
Nearby, there are other precincts such as “the stone of the ring wicket,” “waterfall of longevity,” “pond of good health” and “victory Buddhist prayer stones.”

It was founded in 918.
Toyotamahime no mikoto/Ugaya fukiaezu no mikoto

It is said that it was built by a tribe for mining metallurgy which has been moved from Kyushu about 200 years ago.
At the beginning of the Meiji Period when the shrine was being renovated, it was discovered that snake bones were an object of worship at this place. There is also a “stone base to put the NAGAMOCHI of maids” for human sacrifice. (See Kawakuma Shrine.)

The Yunohana hot spring found in a mountain town in Kyoto.
Healing and relaxing from a stream of hot water flowing from the gorge.
In the natural landscape of the four seasons, hot spring inns are scattered and a hot spring water stand where you can take water home is located.
Wild plants in the spring, fresh water trout (ayu) in the summer, pine mushrooms in the autumn and local sake and wild boar hot pot (Botan-nabe) in the winter, one can feel the hospitality and warm heart of the seasons.

Keizankaku

Traditional Japanese-style inns are located as well as the great inns in Kameoka-Yunohana hot spring. Special wild boar hot pot (Botan-nabe) dishes and seafood are specialties.

Shofuso-Hozugawatei

Founded more than 300 years ago with a long established history of brewing. In Oishi brewery was awarded the bronze medal four times in the wine competition as “Tengori”. The local sake and Outsuru of Tamba, continue to be carefully made using old-fashioned techniques. Such as treasured wine and barrel wine of five years aging there is a drink that does not taste only here.
Treasured wine and barrel wine aged 5 years, can only be tasted here.
There is also a brewery tour, cafe and a liquor museum.

Kameoka castle was built by Mitsuhide Akechi under the instruction of Nobunaga Oda. At that time, it was called Kameyama Castle.
During the Honnoji Incident, Mitsuhide went to the Honnoji war battles from this castle.
A religious corporation has taken over management of this castle.

When Omi Takeoka MamoruTamenobu became Nobushi, it is stated in historical records that it was moved to Marukanjo. Takeoka was destroyed by Mitsuhide Akechi, but the truth is unknown. The current castle is located on the hill behind the house, only traces of the tower stone walls remain.

In the Meiji era, William Gowland discovered the archaeological significance of the “Rokutani Ancient Tombs.” Three out of the six ancient tombs discovered were a unique Japanese-style “stone shelf” type.
After that, there has been no focus on these tombs until recently.
Established evidence to support or not support the shelves or stone chambers where the stone shelves were found are not clear.
